AmFunds Management Berhad
AmFunds Management Berhad (“AFM”) – Registration No. 198601005272 (154432-A) was incorporated in Malaysia on 9 July 1986 and is a licensed fund manager approved by the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”) on 25 September 2008. AFM is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AmInvestment Bank Berhad. AmInvest is the brand name for AFM.
Pursuant to AMMB Holdings Berhad’s (the holding company of AmInvestment Management Berhad (“AIM”) and AFM) initiative to streamline the business operations of its asset management business under AIM and the unit trust business under AFM, the businesses of both AIM and AFM are consolidated to operate under a single operating structure, i.e., under AFM.
AFM is a holder of Capital Markets and Services Licence for the regulated activities of fund management, dealing in securities restricted to unit trusts and dealing in private retirement schemes issued under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. AFM offers the most diverse range of both conventional and Shariah-compliant retirement funds across asset classes and geographical exposures in the market. AFM also manages private retirement schemes (PRS) and exchange traded funds (ETFs).
AFM has appointed AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd (AIFMAFM has appointed AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd (AIFM), a licensed fund manager approved by the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”) on 12 January 2009, to implement its Shariah-compliant funds’ investment strategies to achieve the objectives of its funds.
As at Financial Year End 2023 (31 March 2023), AFM is not involved in any material litigation and arbitration, including those pending or threatened, and any facts likely to give rise to any proceedings which might materially affect the business or financial position of AFM.

As at Financial Year End 2023 (31 March 2023), the total value of assets under management is RM39.3 billion, including separately managed mandates and collective investment schemes (59 funds, 5 private retirement schemes and 2 exchange-traded funds).
c) Cross Trade
The Manager may conduct cross trades between funds and private mandates it currently manages provided that all criteria imposed by the regulators are met.
Notwithstanding, cross trades between the personal account of an employee of the Manager and the fund's account are strictly prohibited. The execution of cross trade (if any) will be reported to the Investment Committee and disclosed in the fund's report accordingly.

Goh Wee Peng Chief Executive Officer

Goh Wee Peng is the Chief Executive of AmInvest, the brand for the funds management business of AmFunds Management Berhad and AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd. Both companies are wholly-owned subsidiaries of AmInvestment Bank Berhad. Ms. Goh has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry, over which 16 years’ experience are in funds management. Her financial expertise and experience span money broking, bond trading and funds management. She started her career as a money market broker, then a fixed income dealer before joining AmInvest as a credit analyst in year 2002. Prior to her appointment as CEO in August 2018, she held various senior management roles within AmInvest comprising Acting CEO, Deputy CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income. Ms. Goh graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Business (Economics and Finance) from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. She holds a Capital Markets Services Representative’s License, Persatuan Forex License, Dealer’s Representative License and is a member of the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM) and Malaysian Association of Asset Managers (MAAM). |
Wong Yew Joe Chief Investment Officer

Wong Yew Joe is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of AmFunds Management Berhad (“AFM”), overseeing the company’s investments across all asset classes which include investment analysis, investment strategies and portfolio positioning of funds under management. He is the designated fund manager of AFM for all unit trusts, wholesale funds, private retirement schemes (PRS) and exchange traded funds (ETFs), managed by AFM. Yew Joe has more than 20 years of experience in financial services and funds management. He plays a key role in product development, business development and managing client relationships in the company. In year 2006, he joined the company as a fund manager. His last position held before CIO was Head of Fixed Income (Islamic), which oversaw investments in sukuk and Islamic fixed income instruments. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. He also holds a Capital Markets Services Representative’s License for the regulated activity of funds management. |
J Visvanathan Jaganatha Thevar Compliance Officer

J Visvanathan Jaganatha is the designated Compliance Officer overseeing compliance matters in AmInvest. He has more than 34 years of working experience in the banking industry, over which 13 years’ experience are capital markets related within the AmBank Group. He is also currently the Head of Compliance at AmInvestment Bank Berhad. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Victoria University of Technology, Australia. He has completed the relevant examinations for Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) modules and is registered as Head of Compliance with both SC and Bursa Malaysia. He is also a Certified Professional in Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism. |

Heow Yen Fen is the Senior Vice President of Business Support of AmInvest, where she currently oversees multiple portfolios comprising product development, business management, business control, administration, corporate communications and marketing, and infrastructure units within the company. She has more than 16 years of experience in the fund management industry and was attached to some of the largest fund houses in Malaysia. Yen Fen first joined AmInvest in 2017 and her last position was Senior Vice President of Product Development and Management. Yasotha Kandasamy Senior Vice President of Institutional Sales

Yasotha Kandasamy is the Senior Vice President, Institutional Sales who oversees the Sales and Client Servicing team for AmInvest’s institutional clients. These clients include pension providers, sovereign funds, financial institutions, public listed companies, government-linked companies as well as corporates and small & medium enterprises (SMEs). She has more than 20 years of financial industry experience selling banking products, credit control in brokering and funds management. Yasotha joined AmInvest in 2001 and had responsibility over the client services and sales team for Institutional and Corporate channel of AmFunds Management Berhad with similar responsibilities at AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd in 2011. Her last position was Vice President, Institutional Funds Services. She obtained a Bachelor of Social Sciences from University Sains Malaysia, majoring in Economics. She holds a Capital Markets Services Representative’s License (CMSRL), Certification in Anti Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism, and Advanced Certificate in Anti Money Laundering. Valerie Low Lai Kin Head of Retail & Retirement Funds

Valerie Low Lai Kin is the Head of Retail and Retirement Funds for AmInvest, overseeing the business development and growth of unit trusts and private retirement schemes (PRS) via various retail channels such as Institutional Unit Trust Advisers (IUTAs), Corporate Unit Trust Advisers, Institutional PRS Advisers and digital financial planning platforms. Her broad financial industry expertise spanned more than two decades, covering brokering, insurance and investment-linked marketing and research, retail banking relationship management and wealth management in various financial institutions. She also acquired strong funds management knowledge as she was the business development head of an international funds management company based in Malaysia who was responsible for fund size growth and new business. She joined AmInvest in year 2016 and her last role was Head of IUTAs, leading a team looking after the growth of retail and retirement funds from IUTAs. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bath, UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Massey University, New Zealand, majoring in Finance. She is a Certified Financial Planner and a registered individual with Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM) to market and distribute unit trust as well as private retirement schemes (PRS). |

Mr Jeyaratnam A/L Tamotharam Pillai (Chairman, Independent)
Mr Jeyaratnam a/l Tamotharam Pillai (Chairman, Independent) was appointed to the Board of AmFunds Management Berhad on 1 April 2019 as Independent Non-Executive Chairman. He is currently the Chairman of AmInvestment Bank Berhad. With over 30 years’ experience in the financial and investment banking services industry, Mr Jeyaratnam is a seasoned banker having involved in various assignments which included the listing of companies, mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, corporate restructuring and fund raising exercises. He undertook Malaysia’s first privatisation exercise and participated in various feasibility studies and cross border transactions in India, Ghana and the United Kingdom. The areas of expertise and experience of Mr Jeyaratnam also include deals origination, define corporate and funding structures, evaluate and negotiate deals, execution and implementation of deals. He has been working closely with various stakeholders such as corporate clients, investors, banks, government agencies, Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa), Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). During his career, Mr Jeyaratnam had served as Chief Executive/Deputy Chief Executive of four investment banks over a 12-year period. He was also a member of the Sub-Committee of Bursa and the Capital Market Advisory Council of SC. He was appointed by the Minister of Finance to be part of the six-member team that was responsible in formulating the Malaysian Capital Market Masterplan. He was overseeing the investment banking, stockbroking, fund management and venture capital activities during his tenure in Maybank as the Head of Investment Banking Division. Mr Jeyaratnam’s past directorships included Westcomb Financial Group Limited Singapore, Kuwait Finance House (Australia) Ptd Ltd, KFH Asset Management Sdn Bhd, Kuwait Finance House (Labuan) Berhad and Avenue Capital Resource Berhad. Mr Tai Terk Lin (Independent)
Mr Tai Terk Lin (independent) was appointed to the Board of Directors of AmFunds Management Berhad as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 15 December 2014. He has experience of more 30 years in fund management and banking industry, while leading a lot of management initiative projects in unit trust, commercial and private banking as well as wealth management. He was previously the Group Chief Executive Officer of ICB Financial Group Holdings AG, the holding company of ICB Banking Group, and a Commissioner of PT Bank ICB Bumiputera. Before that, he was the Executive Director of Platinum Capital Management (Asia) and a Senior Vice President of DBS Bank in Singapore. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cranfield University, United Kingdom. He has a Bachelor of Science with Education (B.Sc.Ed (Hons)) from the University of Malaya and holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and the IBF Advance (IBFA) from the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore. |
Mr Ng Chih Kaye (Independent)
Mr Ng Chih Kaye was appointed to the Board of AmFunds Management Berhad on 1 July 2021 as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Mr Ng is also the Chairman of the joint Audit and Risk Management Committee of AmFunds Management Berhad and AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd (FMD ARMC). He began his career at a firm of Chartered Accountants in London and later at KPMG, Kuala Lumpur. He then served Malayan Banking Berhad for 25 years in the areas of internal audit, credit control and asset recovery until he retired as Executive Vice-President in 2010. Mr Ng is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom. He has been a member of the Insolvency Committees of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and MIA for more than 15 years and remains a member to date. Presently, Mr Ng is an examiner with the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) for the Professional Credit Certification and Risk Management in Banking programmes. He is also a Panel Member of the Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA). Mr Ng currently sits on the board of AmBank (M) Berhad. |

She holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration (Analytical Economics) from University Malaya, Masters in Science (Finance) from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland and her second Master of Managerial Psychology (part-time) from HELP University, Kuala Lumpur. She is also a Certified Professional Coach (Corporate Coach Academy) and a certified mediator under Malaysian Mediation Centre. Throughout Mdm Jas Bir’s career, she had held senior positions at Bank Negara Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia and Value Partners Hong Kong, an asset management company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. She is currently on the panel of mediators for Securities Industry Dispute Resolution Centre (SIDREC). Ms Tracy Chen Wee Keng
Ms Tracy Chen Wee Keng was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of AmInvestment Bank Berhad on 28 October 2020 and is responsible for stewarding the investment bank’s full range of integrated solutions and services including corporate finance, equity capital markets, debt and sukuk originations, private banking, fund management and stockbroking services. She is also a member of the Investment Committee of AmFunds Management Berhad and AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd. Ms Tracy has more than 30 years’ experience in the investment banking and financial services industry. Prior to joining the AmBank Group, Ms Tracy had served for almost two decades at CIMB Investment Bank where she held several senior roles in coverage and origination of investment banking business including the position of Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Senior Bankers Group. She is regarded as one of the most experienced industry professionals, having advised on numerous high profile and innovative debt and equity transactions. Ms Tracy started her banking career in Ban Hin Lee Bank and Standard Chartered Bank where she gained extensive experience in corporate banking and cash management. She ventured into investment banking when she joined Affin Merchant Bank. Ms Tracy graduated from University Sains Malaysia with a Bachelor of Management (First Class Honours) and holds a Capital Market Services Representative Licence and is also a Chartered Banker, Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. Ms Tracy is also a Council Member of the Malaysian Investment Banking Association and in this position, she actively engages with other participants in the investment banking industry. |
